Hi, and thanks for visiting Kingfisher Television’s corner of the web.

Established for over 20 years, Kingfisher has made programmes for BBC, ITV, Ch4, and Discovery Channels, specialising in factual, countryside and wildlife series.

Most recently, we’ve joined the Adrian Chiles and co producing a host of films for BBC One’s The One Show. Our series ‘Claims to Fame’ – revealing amazing stories in hidden corners of Britain – proved to be a smash with the viewers.

Presenters Carol Thatcher, Colin Jackson, Angellica Bell and John Sergeant travelled the UK tracking down the nations largest cemetery, most Scottish town and remotest railway station to name but three. To watch our items click here http://www.bbc.co.uk/theoneshow/article/2007/11/ct_station.shtml

On the back of this success, The One Show viewers have asked for more ‘Claims to Fame’ to be shown. And we’re busy scouring the UK for more stories to be shown later in 2008.

Kingfisher was the first production company to bring Selina Scott back to our screens after a 10 year absence to help front the series. After winning excellent ratings, the series returns together the best and the most bizarre of the British countryside. The show kicks off on Thursday 21st of February at 7.30pm on ITV1.

For more information about what’s coming up on 2008’s Tales from the Country please take a look at our programmes page on the website.
